About Me
My name is Anna Piecuch, and I am a visual artist from Poland, passionate about colors, symbols and stories within images. I paint on canvas and walls, create commissioned portraits and work with graphics.
I graduated with a BA in Printmaking from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice (Poland) in 2010 and in 2008 I studied at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan (Italy), which broadened my artistic perspective.
I have lived and created in Poland, USA, The Netherlands and Italy, where I am now continuing my artistic journey. My works have been exhibited across Europe and USA, including the Polish Museum of America (Chicago), Palazzo Cusani (Milan) and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Many of my pieces of art are also part of private and public collections.
For me, the most important meaning of art is exploring new ways to express emotions, stories and symbols through painting.
Artist Statment
The act of creating is my way of entering meditation.
When I paint portraits, I try to take out the soul and personality of the individual. I believe that every finished painting has its own life and character.
I work on portraits and murals based on my connection with people and places, as well as symbolic paintings inspired by metaphysics and personal experiences. My work is nourished by spiritual practices, shamanic traditions, mythology, and archetypal symbols rooted in our shared imagination. I want my art to be a space for reflection, insight and gentle transformation.
Art is my way of expressing what words cannot. My paintings aim to give viewers a moment of pause, contemplation and inspiration, just as the world leaves its mark on me, my art leaves its mark in return.
The essence of my art arises from the interplay of the visible and the invisible.
